Refund & Cancellation Policy

This page explains how cancellation and refunds work on BuilderPal. It is part of our Terms of Service.
Cancellation
- You can cancel from Settings → Billing in your account at any time. There are no contracts, no cancellation fees, and no phone calls.
- Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep access to paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for, then your account is moved to the Free Forever plan.
- Your workspace data stays available for export for 30 days after the paid period ends, after which it is deleted or anonymized in line with our Privacy Policy.
30-day trial
New accounts can try paid features for 30 days without a credit card. At the end of the trial your account automatically reverts to Free Forever unless you upgrade — there is nothing to cancel and no charge if you do nothing.
Monthly plans
Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable once the charge has been processed. You can cancel at any time; you keep paid access until the end of the current month. We do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of a monthly subscription.
Annual plans
- 14-day refund window. If you purchased an annual plan and would like a refund, email us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund the full amount.
- After 14 days, annual plans are not refunded for the remaining term. You keep paid access through the end of the term you paid for.
- If we materially reduce a feature you specifically paid for during the term, contact us — we will work with you on a pro-rata refund or credit.
Add-ons and metered usage
Metered usage (e.g., extra AI quote drafts, additional SMS bundles, or per-call voice usage) is consumed when used and is not refundable. If usage is charged on top of a base subscription that you cancel, the metered portion already consumed remains billable.
Taxes
Where applicable, taxes (HST, GST, QST, PST, VAT, sales tax) are added to your subscription. When we issue a refund, applicable taxes are refunded in proportion to the refunded amount.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before opening a chargeback — most billing questions are resolved quickly by email. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account until the dispute is resolved, and may affect your ability to use Stripe-backed services elsewhere.
Consumer-protection rights
Nothing on this page limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, the Consumer Protection Act 2019 (Quebec), or any other consumer law that applies to you. If a mandatory consumer-protection rule conflicts with this page, that rule prevails over the part it conflicts with.
How to request a refund
Email hello@builderpal.io from the address on your account with the order ID or last four digits of the card. We will respond within two business days.
